To the Alumni of the Alabama Chapter of Delta Chi
The total renovation of the kitchen has been completed (see enclosed photo), an accomplishment of which we can all be proud.
With this additional remodeling of the Chapter House we have reached yet another milestone in our continuing effort to promote and grow the Chapter. We now must address the remaining debt incurred for this new kitchen. We only need $12,500 more from our alumni to reach the $60,000 goal.
If we are not successful in convincing our alumni to contribute this needed $12,500 then the 6 Board members of the HCB/ABT will have to pay off this debt. Remember that these 6 board members of HCB and ABT have already pledged a total of $10,000. We must have your financial help.
Please send $$$$$$. Your contributions are tax deductible.
Make the check payable to the University of Alabama, mark it “for Delta Chi Building Fund” and send it along with your pledge card to Stan Williams, Suite 900,Ten Piedmont Center, Atlanta,Ga.30305.(addressed envelope enclosed). It would only take 25 additional Brothers pledging $500, make their first payment of $250 now and the remaining $250 in 2007, for us to reach our goal.
To give you some idea of major construction projects Fraternities have recently completed or currently have underway I will highlight a few.
The Deke’s are starting a $3 million house. The SAE’s have a major renovation underway. The Sigma Nu’s have launched a 1.3 million dollars re-do. The Kappa Sig’s just finished a $1,500,000 renovation and the KA’s are completing a major refurbishment which includes a steam room/sauna.
The current replacement value of our Chapter House would easily appraise at more than $2,000,000. When we raise this last $12,500 we will have reclaimed and rehabilitated a tremendous asset, free and clear of debt except for the kitchen equipment loan which is the sole obligation of the Student Chapter.
In future years we will undertake the few remaining improvements necessary to update the House and in the interim, provide good maintenance.
One of the best tools we as alumni can provide the Student Chapter to assure the success of the Fraternity is an impressive Chapter House that is attractive and functions completely. This is essential if the Delta Chi Chapter is to remain competitive with other Fraternities on Campus.
On behalf of the HCB & ABT, we thank you for your continued generosity.
Fraternally,
Stan Williams & Chuck Carlin
