Progress and Needs

TO ALL DELTA CHI BROTHERS
We want to keep you posted on our progress toward raising the remaining $55,000 for the completion of all rest/bathrooms in the Chapter House. As of this date we have received $9000 in hand with additional pledges of $3000, for a total of $12,000.
If we can generate $8,000 within the next 3 months, combined with the $12,000 already pledged or in hand, for a total of $20,000, we can immediately launch the first part of 2nd phase of the remodeling which is the refurbishment of the shower/bath facility located on the 2nd floor of the House.
As you know the Housing Board, the Alumni Board of Trustees and Student Chapter early on contributed $20,000 which enabled the completion of the restrooms located on the first floor of the House which are the ones most used by guest, dates, alumni and parents.(See attached photo)

The party wing restrooms and the 2nd floor bath/shower area have not been upgraded since their initial installation, which in the case of the bath/shower area was over 30 years ago. These are the facilities we intend to remodel. One would be hard pressed to find them acceptable in their current condition.
The image of the Fraternity projected throughout the Campus is partly, but profoundly, predicated upon the attractiveness and condition of the Chapter House. Furthermore, the attractiveness of the Chapter House is an important consideration when a potential Associate Member is evaluating the Chapter House as a place he will entertain his dates; invite his parents and friends during his college career and as an alumnus visit when returning to the Campus to attend sporting events or special occasions.
As you know of late the Chapter has had much success in rush efforts and adding Associate Members. The Officers of the Chapter tell us that the remodeling of the two restrooms that were completed just before Rush began was influential in attracting new Associate Members because it showed that the House was on the move and that the Alumni supported the Chapter in a big way. We must keep this momentum going. The substandard conditions of the party wing restrooms and rest/shower area are the last deficiencies which must be corrected in order to produce a top notch Chapter House.
We now need all alumni to step forward and support the Fraternity. Consider making a contribution of $500. If that is a bit of a stretch for you then consider a contribution of $200. It is tax deductible.
Please remember the Chapter House is a $2,000,000 asset and it is imperative that we maintain it properly.
Please make your check payable to “The University of Alabama”, mark it “for the Delta Chi Bldg fund” and send it to Stan Williams, Suite 900, Ten Piedmont Center, and Atlanta, Ga. 30305. The University will send you a record of your contribution for tax purposes.
